Injections of hyaluronic acid for the hands

Injections of hyaluronic acid can treat the volumes on the back of the hand. The goal is to restore firm hands, and to fill the unsightly hollows of the hands' back, as well as those of interdigital spaces.

  • NUMBER OF TREATMENTS

A single session of cross-linked hyaluronic acid performed on the back of the hands aims to fill unsightly hollows and hide veins and tendons.

  • Price

Between $650 and $1200 for both hands

SESSION PROCEDURE

After a good cleaning of the hands, the doctor deposits 3 to 4 boluses of hyaluronic acid (injections), at the interosseous spaces' level, where there are hollows. This is followed by a good massage to place the hyaluronic acid evenly on the back of the hand. This whole process is painless.

Warning: be aware of this important element, injections are impossible on tanned skin, moreover, the sun needs to be avoided for 3 weeks before and after the session.

The effects last around 8 to 12 months. It all depends on the quantity administered as well as your personal characteristics such as age, genetics, lifestyle, etc.

SIDE EFFECTS

Immediately after the procedure, superficial redness, bleeding, slight bruising may appear on the injection sites, or also small bumps, tenderness, pain or swelling. These undesirable effects last on average from 2 to 15 days. Any trace of intervention or aesthetic care is then imperceptible to others.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Hypersensitivity to lidocaine
  • Active autoimmune disease, sarcoidosis, scleroderma
  • Immunosuppressive treatments
  • Being on anticoagulants
  • Diabetics
  • Having joint pathologies

Radiesse hand care

Radiesse is an absorbable filler with a longer duration of action than hyaluronic acid. Overall, it gives 30% more volume compared to hyaluronic acid, and it is perfectly tolerated by the body. In addition, its duration of action oscillates around 18 months, twice as long as hyaluronic acid.

It is a malleable product that fills well the different hollows present on the hands's back due to aging. It hides the tendons, veins and bones visible under the skin.

Finally, Radiesse stimulates the production of collagen by the body, the collagen thus produced interacts with Radiesse, which makes it possible to give the skin a smoother, supple and natural appearance. All of its hyaluronic acid benefits make Radiesse our favorite hand treatment.

  • NUMBER OF TREATMENTS

    Usually 1 session is enough

  • Price

Starting at 750$ for both hands

SESSION PROCEDURE

Through a few injection points, we inject boluses of Radiesse, taking care to avoid the subcutaneous veins that are very easily visible under the thin skin. The product is then massaged to spread in all the interosseous spaces, which makes it possible to fill the hollows and hide the very unsightly superficial veins.

The effects last about 18 months.

  • Acute or chronic skin disease (infectious or inflammatory)
  • Allergy to one of the product's components

  • NUMBER OF TREATMENTS

3 sessions 21 days apart combined with a maintenance session 6 months later.

  • Price

    Starting at $299 per session

SESSION PROCEDURE

The doctor or medical nurse will use a micro-needle to administer the treatment. An analgesic cream will be applied before the treatment if necessary for more comfort.

The frequency of the sessions may vary depending on the type of skin. Close sessions will be practiced after significant sun exposure (during summer holidays, stays in the mountains, etc.), in the event of heavy smoking, during cold winters and after menopause. Thus, the skin remains properly hydrated and ages less quickly.

SIDE EFFECTS

Immediately after the procedure, superficial redness and slight bruising may appear at the injection sites, but will disappear very quickly.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Active skin or general infection.
  • Pregnancy and breast feeding.
  • Autoimmune diseases.

Peeling for hands

Hand peeling is indicated for those who wish to correct the withered appearance of their hands and so-called “age spots”.

The back of the hands' skin, whose structure is fragile and very thin, is subject to permanent repeated physical, thermal and chemical aggressions: exposure to the sun, heat or extreme cold, debridement linked to soaps, various detergents including hydro-alcoholic solutions.

  • NUMBER OF TREATMENTS

For optimal results, 4 to 5 sessions are recommended at 15-day intervals.

  • Price

    100$ per session

SESSION PROCEDURE

The treatment generally consists of the application of a liquid (usually an acid) which causes controlled desquamation. This desquamation will remain light, a bit like after a sunburn, and not very bothersome. We thus make a new skin gently, by peeling very lightly repeatedly, over several sessions. Smoother, younger-looking skin without blemishes.

The session takes place in several stages and can last 15 to 30 minutes. A soothing cream and an SPF are applied to the entire treated area to protect the skin following the treatment.

The results come gradually. It is necessary to wait around 3 to 4 weeks for the skin to have time to carry out a cycle of complete renewal of its cells. With the repetition of the sessions, you will notice that the back of the hands will have a firmer texture and be better tightened. The coloring will also be more unified and the spots will have diminished.

SIDE EFFECTS

Its consequences are not embarrassing and your social or professional life can be continued.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Progressive herpes
  • Pregnancy and breast feeding.
  • Recent treatment with isoretinoin (acne treatment)
  • Progressive skin diseases (psoriasis, eczema, basal and squamous cell cancers, melanoma, etc.)
