BOTOX Cosmetic®


Q: What is Botox Cosmetic®?
A: Botox Cosmetic is a purified inactive protein - a derivative of botulinum toxin A - used in very small doses. It is used in aesthetic medicine to block nerve impulses.
 

Q: How does it work?
A: Botox Cosmetic® relaxes the muscles under the skin to give it a smooth, rested and youthful appearance.


Q: How long do the effects last?
A: The effects last 3 to 4 months depending on each person.


Q: How long does the treatment take?
A: After the consultation, the treatment lasts approximately 15 minutes.


Q: How long does it take for the effects to appear?
A: The effects start 3 to 14 days after the injection.


Q: What does the treatment involve?
A: The product is injected by a certified nurse using a very fine needle.


Q: Will the facial appearance be worse when the effects of the treatment wear off?
A: Treatment slows down the aging clock. When treatment is stopped, the aging clock returns to normal.


Q: What are the side effects?
A: Side effects are very rare and not permanent. The majority of patients have no side effects. A direct line to the doctor is always available if you experience more serious side effects such as asthma symptoms or wheezing, or if you become dizzy or faint.

Juvederm™


Q: What is Juvederm™ and Revanesse®?
A: A filling agent made from hyaluronic acid. (Complex sugar produced naturally by the skin).


Q: How does it work?
A: Juvederm™ is injected on the skin's surface to reduce the depth of wrinkles and facial furrows.


Q: How long do the effects last?
A: The effects last for up to a year depending on each person.


Q: How long does the treatment take?
A: After the consultation, the treatment lasts about 30 minutes.


Q: How long does it take for the effects to appear?
A: The results are instantaneous.


Q: What does the treatment involve?
A: The product is injected by a certified nurse using a very fine needle which minimizes discomfort.


Q: What are the side effects?
A: The most common side effects are redness, tenderness, bruising, firmness, swelling, tiny bumps, itching as well as discoloration. Side effects are mild or moderate and usually do not last longer than 7 days.


Q: Can we have a Juvederm™ treatment after receiving a Botox® treatment?
A: Yes. Moreover, doctors recommend a combination of the two treatments to achieve optimal facial rejuvenation.
